Therapy based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is at the core of what we do at Safe Center. Employing evidence-based behavior analytic methods, we are able to identify the student’s developmental priorities and create an individualized program accordingly. Our programs target skill deficits where we aim to increase appropriate skills such as communication, and target behavior excesses where we aim to decrease inappropriate behavior such as aggression’s.
Through the use of rigorous data collection, we are able to track the effectiveness of each program, and make any necessary modifications in a timely manner.
ABA principles are used when teaching students attending our day school program. Furthermore, ABA afternoon therapy sessions are provided for students between 2:00 pm-4:15 pm. These afternoon sessions are also available to the general public; however, we do have a limited number of appointments. Our ABA therapists are Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and receive supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
